ABOUT THIS WORK
Large faceted shapes emerge from an almost light-absorbing surface. Matte and glossy blacks react differently to the room, allowing parts of the composition to disappear and reappear with changing light. The work sits between painting and object because its physical finish is essential to the image. Its fractured structure suggests collapse, construction or movement through darkness without fixing one interpretation.
